Hello, we are the stronghold system, also known as Sarah& Clark.
We live with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and also identify as Plural.
We are polyfragmented, although we dislike that term these days. Basically, we are Many.
We stopped giving numbers of how many system members we have.

Our system consists out of a group of main fronters who handle day to day life.
Next to this group, there are many subsystems,
who have small or big tasks in the inside or outside world and life.

Stronghold introduction:

When we were younger we did 3 out of the 4 years of social worker education here in the Netherlands.
In 2009 we became the mother and parent of an amazing child.
Before 2010 we traveled all over the world to bring joy to the poor.
We handed out clothes, food, medicine and school supplies to thousands
of the poorest people in the world. We had the honor working and learning Mozambique
and helped to set up a school in a garbage dump in Indonesia, which is still going today!
Later we got professionally trained in hypnosis,
although to be clear, that does not make us a hypnotherapist.

When the Stronghold system got diagnosed:

Then we got diagnosed with DID in 2010,11 and 2012.
We dealt with a lot of denial and asked for second opinions
and still didn’t believe them. It was very difficult, especially with no help available.
5 years after accepting the diagnosis, we decided to dedicate the next 10 years of our life
to work alongside other community leaders and help improve the quality of life of all plurals.

This website was started in 2017

Hence we started this website in 2017, we originally started this site under the name power to the systems.
It didn’t take long to change it to power to the plurals instead, to better reflect our inclusiveness.
Around the same time, we also started a facebook empowerment group called AlterNation
and of course our youtube channel, with over 50 education videos!

Not long after starting this process our doctor discovered that we had cervix cancer.
It took a year and a half, 3 surgeries and a lot of tears, but we are grateful to now be cancer free.
We are also thankful for how the community supported us through this difficult and challenging time.

After we healed we started traveling again, we visited the USA, stranded in Canada and saw some more of Europe,
while we learned more about Dissociative Identity Disorder and early childhood trauma.
It’s fantastic to have been able to meet so many of you Power Plurals irl!

This is just a small portion of our life story, we hope you found it interesting to read more about us.
If you have questions, don’t hesitate to reach out.

  1. Hi dear Pandoras, yes of course that is okay. We have the translation option turned on, on youtube. So you dont have to ask permission. If you click the little wheel and then subtittles/cc it will show a button to add subtitles. I then get a notification to approve afterwards. Which i think makes no sense, cause how can i know if you translated correctly to your language lol 😛 Thank you so much <3
