We empower Plurals, do you empower us?

You might remember what it was like before you found other Plurals, people like you.

5 years ago there were no events made for Plurals. No community spaces where you could just exist without explaining yourself. No meetups, no organized connection, no one talking about Plurality in research or in politics. A handful of YouTubers, if you were lucky enough to find them. And a mental health system that largely ignored you, misunderstood you, or actively tried to change you.

80% of you told us in the 2025 Plural Census that you are lonely. That number does not surprise us. It is exactly why we show up every day.

Because you deserve better than that. You always did.

What This Community Built Together

Since 2020, something has been growing. Over 100 articles written by and for Plurals. 200+ videos. A thriving membership community with real spaces for real connection. Monthly meetups. Organized chats. Live events with thousands of registrants. The first ever training on Plurality created by Plural clinicians, for clinicians. A census that gives the Plural community a documented, visible voice. DID Awareness Day programming. Petitions. Outreach to politicians. Accountability in research spaces that had none.

None of this existed before. All of it exists now because donors, members, volunteers, sponsors, and community members decided it should.

Over 1 million people reached in English. Over 1 million in Dutch. Over 1 million in Chinese through translations and more in German, French, Russian and Spanish. 2,000 scholarships awarded. 86% of Plurals recommend TPA. 78% say TPA empowered them.

That is what this community built. Together.

The Honest Part

An industrial complex is when corporations, governments, foundations, and institutions create systems that appear to support social change but actually manage and limit it, keeping power structures intact. The Nonprofit Industrial Complex describes how nonprofits can become dependent on state and corporate funding, which quietly shapes what they are allowed to say, do, and fight for.

This is why TPA is community-funded by design. No outside funder tells us what the Plural community needs. You do.

What exists here runs on donations, memberships, event tickets, and the labor of volunteers and freelancers who believe in this movement. Unlike larger nonprofits, we have no marketing team, no fundraising staff, no outreach department. What we have is a group of volunteers who refuse to let this movement stall.

Our founder has been chronically ill and volunteering for years to keep this going. Not because it is easy, but because no one else was doing it and it needed to exist. That combination of community support and personal commitment has carried TPA further than anyone thought possible.

But for TPA to keep growing, and to keep showing up for Plurals the way it always has, it needs a foundation that does not depend on any one person running on empty. It needs the community to carry it forward. Structurally. Long Term. Sustainably. Together.

That is where you and your System come in.

Become Part of Our Fundraising Effort

Most nonprofits have a dedicated fundraising team. We have something better: a community of people who know firsthand why this work matters.

Your story, told in your own words to the people who trust you, will always land differently than anything we could write ourselves. A fundraising appeal from someone whose system found community through TPA, whose therapist finally understood them, whose loneliness lifted a little because this place existed, that is not marketing. That is the truth. And the truth reaches further than you think. It reaches your friends, your family, your colleagues, your therapist, people who have never heard the word Plural in their lives. And when you choose to support TPA, you are also saying something to the people in your system: you deserve community. You deserve resources. You deserve to be understood. This is for us.

So we are inviting you to host your own fundraiser for TPA. Set your own goal. Tell your own story. Raise money for the Plural community your way.

Your birthday or Syscovery day. A livestream. A crafting marathon. DID Awareness Day. Plural Acceptance Week. A random Tuesday because TPA helped your system and you want to do something about it. Whatever feels right to you, however big or small, it counts.

No fundraising experience needed. No minimum goal. Just you, your story, and the people in your life who trust you.

This Is for Allies Too

You do not have to be Plural to be part of this.

Maybe you are a therapist working with Plural clients and you know how desperately more resources are needed. Maybe you are the parent of a child who was just diagnosed with DID and you are trying to understand. Maybe your spouse or partner is Plural and you found TPA while looking for answers together. Maybe someone you love has OSDD and you found TPA while searching at two in the morning.

Whatever brought you here, you are welcome. And your fundraiser matters just as much.

When you raise money for TPA as an ally, you are telling the Plural people in your life that you see them, that their community is worth investing in, and that you are willing to put that into action.

Every fundraiser started. Every membership joined. Every donation made. It tells the world that Plurals deserve better. It tells the people in your life that this community is real and worth supporting. And it tells the people in your system the same thing you have always deserved to hear: you matter, you belong, and you are worth fighting for.
