Hiding – A poem about being Plural in a singular normative world

Here is a poem called Hiding:

Hiding is safest,
don’t feel now, just hide.
Don’t show your true colors,
your faces or sides.

It’s not worth to be seen,
it hurts to be discarded.
People don’t care,
people are mean.

It is so blank and empty,
My head is fog and smoke.
It’s loud inside and feels busy.
I feel like I will choke.

Hiding is a must,
how can you trust?
Don’t you feel this burden,
that is pain from the past?

How can you smile,
when you look in the mirror?
How do I mask?
How do I pass?
I can’t breathe!
