This article explains how to make a safety plan for dissociative identity disorder.

How to make a safety plan for DID (1)
A crisis plan, sometimes called a safety plan is usually a plan that describes what you will do, to keep yourself safe. To help yourselves during a crisis period. Like when you experience panic attacks or flashbacks. If you have dissociative identity disorder it is very important to involve your plural system in the crisis plan. Its a great way to learn to work together better in difficult moments. In the following video, which we have re-edited and re-uploaded, to provide you a better experience. We explain our crisis plan step by step. We hope this new video will give you inspiration and tips and tricks on how to make your own from crisis to safety plan for you and your plural DID system.

One of the most important things is to remind all of you where and when you are.
Being present in the here and now is what gets you out of being stuck in the fear of the past. This is a neurological process in the brain, that takes time and practice to learn to get out of. Try to be kind to yourselves. Journaling is a great way to get the input of other alters on what should be included in your from crisis to safety plan!

If you add checking Facebook to your plan, then you might be interested to know that we host a Plural safe space and DID support group called AlterNation on Facebook! Feel free to join us!

We hope this video was helpful and informative for you! If you have any questions feel free to post them in the comment section of the site!

    1. Im so sorry you had the same experience Tyreena. Also without (correct) outside help a safety plan could help you. If you have DID you could replace the outside help in our plan with help from the inside, by people from your system. We also do this by now. Best of luck to you!
